Description
A unique variety, unique to a region. Chiroso (so named due to its elongated shape) is believed to have originated from a landrace variety from Ethiopia, and grows almost exclusively in the Antioquia region of Colombia. After a couple of successful showings on the Colombia Cup of Excellence in 2014 by producers Jose Arcadio Caro and neighbor Doña Carmen Cecilia Montoya, the variety grew in demand. In 2020, producer Felipe Henao Triana of Finca Los Tres Mosqueteros won top spot with their Chiroso variety.
